  Artist Statement
In our walks through life, we often bottle ourselves up for the select few who pass gates into a deeper realm of our personalities. We safe guard our hearts and lock up our homes as a way to protect from outside intruders we do not wish to let in. Being offered the opportunity to step inside someones home is stepping into their life. Opening up the door to the personal parts of what make them unique idividuals. Home is a place for refuge. Comfort. Solitude. We invite in the select. When we're offered a ticket inside what do we see? Feel? Experience? How do we change our views of the ones opening the home? Perception of the norm becoming miraculous.
The 'Still Life..' show deals with two homes. A private home in Bangor, Maine and an old captains house in Prince Edward Island now made into a museum for entrance fees. One home is accessible by entrance on an emotional and personal level...and the other open to the general public for the right price. Both capture a moment frozen in time. A chair in the corner or a room full of books. A plate on the mantle or a dirty glass in the sink...The true and original formations of the term 'still life' whether inhabited or vacant. A life still present and active, but frozen in a snapshot of time.
